Marcia
has been actively training and competing in dog sports
for over 20 years. She has titled her dogs in Obedience
(numerous placements and high scoring Doberman awards),
Tracking, and Agility. Marcia currently has a seven year
old Doberman, Dyna, who competes in NADAC and CPE
agility (AKC, EAJ), and a three year old toy Manchester
terrier, Ivy< who is just starting to compete in CPE
agility.
She is certified in pet obedience from Volhard
Instructor School/Training Camp, certified in pet
nutrition through Nutra Products, and is a certified
agility instructor through Julie Daniels White Mountain
Agility School in New Hampshire.
She has been associated with Cynthia Kean’s Positive Pet
Training since it opened, and before that , assisted
Cynthia in teaching agility at South Towns Working Dog
Club. Now she will continue as one of the main teachers
at Canine Sports Complex.
Her educational background includes Clicker Training
seminars by Karen Pryor, Gary Wilkes and Susan Garrett.
She has attended many Obedience seminars including those
given by Janice Demellow, Nancy Patton, Ruth Roshbach-Chandler
(“Attention Training and Healing”), Judy Howard
(“Obedience Training From a Dogs Point of View”), Patty
Russo (“Food, Focus, Fun”), Terri Arnold (“Stepping Up
to Success”), Janet Lewis (“Food For Thought”), and Ann
Marie Silverton. Marcia has attended Clean Run Camp for
three years, and has trained with agility world team
members and top instructors from the USA, Canada and
England. She has also attended numerous agility camps
and seminars with Susan Garrett, Linda Mecklenburg,
Stuart Mah, Alicia Calhoun, Pauline Hope, Steve Frick,
Chris Zinc and Susan Salo, and Suzanne Clothier.
