Kim started working with dogs 15 years ago through a job at the local animal shelter, but dogs have been her passion her whole life. Never allowed to have a dog of her own growing up, Kim vowed that would be the first thing she would do when she was finally out on her own. Along came 'Oscar', a shaggy mixed breed, from the SPCA. Oscar's need to be kept busy took Kim on many adventures that led to training and competing in Flyball, Obedience, Agility and Disc Dog at which point she was bitten by the "training bug".
With a strong background in rescue and rehabilitation of unwanted and often neglected/abused dogs, Kim has aquired a great sense of respect and knowledge of canine behavior. Kim's uses what a dog wants (toys, praise, treats and affection) to help motivate and encourage him into making successful choices in his training. Her goal is to help owners form a strong bond and better relationship with their dogs, making training fun and enjoyable for everyone.
On top of teaching training classes, Kim also breeds Border Collies and runs a successful all breed In Home Boarding/Training business. She is also a judge for the Canadian Disc Dog Association. Kim's own dogs have appeared in several print adds and commercials and starred in multiple performances shows across Canada and the United States.
