Buffalo native, Asha, is a Communications cum laude graduate with a concentration in TV/Digital Film from SUNY Fredonia. Currently, she is a puppy and obedience trainer at Canine Sports Complex (CSC). She began her professional dog journey with dog sitting and walking, then gained her Dog Obedience Trainer/Instructor degree from Penn Foster in 2018. Asha is currently working on attaining her CPDT-KA (Certified Pet Dog Trainer- Knowledge Assessed) Certification through her training at CSC. Despite growing up with the most loving Golden Retrievers throughout her school years, she has turned her eyes and heart to her two rescues, Sophie and Bree. Asha enjoys training her dogs at CSC and learning how to be a better owner in understanding her own dogs and the special language between owner and companion. She focuses on general obedience with both, agility and scent work when she brings them to class. She enjoys bringing the excitement and joy of completing classes herself to her own classes at CSC!
Asha enjoys teaching her own Barkology courses at CSC and is focused on training puppies in basic obedience with their excited owners. She teaches with all positive reinforcement training, in beginner’s agility (for the puppy and the owner), scent work, obedience, focus work, mental stimulation, games, and lots of love! As she continues her on her pathway of positive training, she substitutes and assists owner, Jeannine Jay, in Scared Dog Classes, Reactive Dog Classes, General Obedience and Private Classes. In her free time, she plays rugby for Buffalo Women’s Rugby, writes, hikes with her dogs, and plays softball. She is also a professional wedding, pet and portrait photographer across NYS. In the near future, Asha is excited to open her own doggy daycare and boarding facility in the Buffalo area.
